Vintage Sofa Redo! Finally Getting Started!

Ready for some more shenanigans?  I love that word SHENANIGANS... great word don't you think?

Finally getting to work on that vintage sofa.  I'm about half way done!  I still have to decide on the fabric for the seat cushions, and do the back, and the cording... and all of that good stuff.  But... I just wanted to show you how it was coming along.  I covered the body of the sofa in the croc. vinyl I mentioned in an earlier post.  Thought it would be a modern twist to an old sofa.  Here's a look at it half way finished.

I decided not to use the croc fabric for the seat cushions.  I want them to look and be softer, so I'm thinking of going with a similar color grey fabric like this.

I saw this picture and loved the tones of it.  I guess this is sort of my inspiration for the colors for the sofa redo.  My colors will be much more muted though.

Here is kind of how it will look when it's finished.  Of course there will be three individual seat cushions with cording and all the rest of the finishing bits.  Still lots to be done, but you get the idea.

Lot's more going on in this room.  More on that soon.

So what do you think so far?

  1. I love it!!! The croc print is definitely cool and I like your idea to use softer fabric for the seat cushions.
