Fall Decorating

I love the colors of fall, and I do love to decorate for Thanksgiving, but... I must admit, sometimes I just want to skip right over it and get to Christmas! Check out these pictures for fall decor that will make you want to put Christmas on hold.

Fall Inspiration - Outside Decorations 1.

I was just sitting outside letting the puppies, "do their business" and thinking to myself what a beautiful day it was.  The temperature was perfect about 70 degrees, which for Florida always seems cool, and there was a nice breeze blowing.  Then it dawned on me that tomorrow is October 1st, already!  Where has the year gone?  Time for the holiday decorating, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!  Yay.  Hmmm, what to do, what to do, for this years decorating,  Here are a couple pics, to get the creative juices flowing!

Dress your door and porch for fall.  I love these wreaths,  Mums, apples, lemons, berries, pine, and pine cones!  Yummy eye candy.

I love coming across displays like this, with hay bales and mums galore. So pretty!

And for those of us who don't have a wagon laying around to hold our fall decor, here are a couple, more do able, decorations.

These are super pretty.  A silver planter holds some ornamental grass, and hay is wrapped around a pumpkin stand and secured with rope.  I'm not sure what was used as the stand in these pictures, but you can use an upside down pot. (a terra cotta pot, or even a pot you use for cooking)  It will just need to have a flat bottom big enough to hold a few small pumpkins.

Next up, Halloween decorating ideas, and indoor fall decorating ideas.  So stay tuned!

DIY - Decorative Ball Accessories

Whenever I am out shopping I always seem to find myself saying, I bet I could make something like that for next to nothing".  I'm sure there are a lot of other people running around out there just like me.  Actually I know there are otherwise there wouldn't be so many bloggers. So thank goodness for that, because I love me some blogs! Ok, so anyway, here goes a few more of  my "for next to nothing" Decorative Ball Accessories.

I always see balls like these out and about and I love them because they tend to be full of texture and very organic looking, for example:

And here are my "for next to nothing" DIY's

Feather Balls - You just need foam balls, a hot glue gun, and feathers,

and... my seashell ball place holders - you need foam balls, a hot glue gun, and seashells,

and... my stone ball accessories,  these are sitting on wooden bangle bracelets as stands,  all you need is foam balls, a hot glue gun and decorative stones.

and... glass beads - you just need foams balls, stick pins, and glass beads,

I love making these things!  The last picture is of braided plastic bag balls. Click here for the "how to"
I told you I'd hot glue anything to a foam ball and call it pretty!
So what do you think?

Plastic Bag Decorative Balls DIY

I don't know why I have such an affinity for making decorative balls, but I do!  I'll hot glue anything to a foam ball and call it pretty!  Here is a DIY decorative ball accessory from plastic bags, and it helps keep a few plastic bags out of the landfill.  Just an extra little added bonus!
First here are the things you need:

-Foam Balls
-Plastic Bags
-Scissors
-Stick Pins

These are pretty simple to create, and fun to do.  First cut your plastic bag into about 1" strips

Open the strips up, (they should be circles) then cut them, and tie three strips together with a knot at the end,

Braid the strips.  Wrap the strips around the foam ball, securing with stick pins as you go.  Keep going until the ball is completely covered.

All done!  Enjoy!

Happy renewing and redoing!

Smiles!
