DIY - Gold Paper Boxes

I love these little boxes and they are super easy to make!

Things you need to do this project:

-Paper Squares (The thicker the paper, the sturdier the box.)
-Ribbon
-Liquid Leaf "Brass"
-Craft Paint Brush

First take you square piece of paper and fold each of the four corners into the center.

Then repeat the step (this makes for a very sturdy box)

Next fold each side of the square into the middle.

Then unfold the sides, taking it back to a square and repeat this step folding the other two sides into the center.  This step is about creating lines to follow for further folding.  Once you have folded the last two sides open them up to go back to a square shape.

These next steps are where it gets a bit tricky to explain, but I will do my best.  Looking at your square of folded paper take each folded piece and open it up.
Next you need to push in the corners toward the center, using the inner most crease/fold as a guild line.

Then fold the top point down over you knew folds to create a side of your box.  Repeat on the other side and your box is finished.

Make a set of 3 different size boxes, small, medium, and large, and a second set of 2 boxes, medium and large. Next paint all the boxes with your Gold Liquid Leaf, and let dry.  Stack the boxes one on top of the other.  Place the boxes on top of your ribbon.

Pull the ribbon up around the boxes.  Make sure you have enough ribbon to tie.  Cut the ribbon and tie.

There you have it!  All done!   You can use the boxes for anything from holding office supplies, to Christmas decorations.

Here is a paper box being used to hold office supplies.

Happy renewing and redoing!
